Trinity Baptist Church was
established in 1953. We consider ourselves a fairly traditional
Baptist Church in our worship and structure. We are a missional
church who focuses on keeping Christ at the forefront. Some of the
unique qualities of Trinity include: accepting, non-condemning,
honest, loving, refuge, committed, compassionate, equipped, gifted,
eating and family. As family we trust each other to help us grow in
our faith. Trinity has a history of having an ecumenical spirit. We value other Christian denominations and are intentional in trying to work and worship with them. This attitude and some of our core values give us a unique flavor in the "Baptist World". In Baptist life these days, it is important to note that we primarily support the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) with our money and other resources. We believe that God calls men and women to serve in unique capacities within the body of Christ, and we allow the individuals within a community of believers to interpret that calling. We do maintain our ties with our roots within the Southern Baptist Convention, state convention, local association and other Baptist mission organizations, and we strive to work together in ventures that build up the body of Christ. Like many other Christian groups, we acknowledge God as Creator and Father. We affirm the Lordship of Christ, finding Jesus the pattern for life. We encourage the Holy Spirit as the continuing presence of God and the Risen Christ with humankind. We point to the atoning death of Jesus as a means of forgiveness and redemption. We believe in justification by faith alone, and we stress the resurrection and the life eternal. |
